Our Founder's Story
Tint King was built by a lifelong car addict who turned obsession into a business.
Ever since I was a kid, cars were everything. Before I ever had a licence, I was already deep into Hot Rod, Car Craft, Mustang Monthly and more, building model cars and learning every corner of the automotive world I could. This was never just a hobby. It was hardwired in from the start.
That obsession turned into real experience in high school when I worked at a body shop that sent me for a window tinting course. From there, I tinted all through high school, sharpened my skills at Ben's Auto Glass where I was sent for advanced level training, and eventually launched my first company, Black Diamond Tinting.
At one point, I stepped away from tinting and tried a few other jobs. That experiment confirmed one thing fast: I make a terrible employee and I'd rather work 80 hours a week building something of my own than 40 hours a week building someone else's. That mindset brought me back to what I love and pushed me to build something bigger.
In April 2016, Tint King started in Saskatoon in the underground parkade of the condo building where Pink Cadillac used to be. From there, we outgrew the parkade, then outgrew the garage shop at my house, then kept growing. In 2021, we moved into our 1,200 sq. ft. shop on Ontario Avenue. A year later we took over the bay beside us. A year after that, we added a third bay as a wash bay. Then in October 2025, we opened our 7,100 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility on Quebec Avenue.
But Tint King was never built on square footage alone. It was built on standards, reputation, and obsession.
We are relentless about the quality of our work, but just as relentless about the quality of the experience. To us, client satisfaction is not some cheesy slogan slapped on a wall. It is part of the product. The communication matters. The atmosphere matters. The details matter. The final result matters. We want every client to feel like they chose the right shop the second they walk in and even more so when they leave.
That mindset is what built our reputation. We have earned trust by staying obsessive about craftsmanship, being honest with people, and treating every vehicle with the same care and pride we would want for our own. We are always refining, improving, and raising the bar, because good enough has never been the goal.
I've also always been the kind of person who likes doing things differently. Whether it's building brands, exploring creative ventures (shoutout superduperfragrance.com lol), stand-up comedy, DJing, or diving into things like design and 3D printing, I've never been wired for ordinary. That same mindset carries into Tint King. We don't believe in bland, copy-and-paste business. We believe in building something with personality, creating an experience people remember, and doing work that stands out.
Tint King is more than a tint shop. It is the product of a real car guy, an entrepreneur, and somebody wired to create, build, and leave an impression. That has been the mission from day one: do it better, do it differently, and never do it halfway.
